Reasons I Switched Political Parties!

I need to put pen to paper today. I was raised in Sunny southern California, in the inner city of south Watts, Compton area. My parents were Christian people, although democrats as most of us Black people are raised. Christianity stood out and took the preeminence in our family as my parents were dedicated hard working individuals, who believed in family, raising children for God also with characters that would benefit society. My parents sacrificed for their six children daily, giving us what they felt would lead us to serve society and fit us for Gods kingdom. Yes, they chose to place us in Christian school in the first grade, and that was a huge deal, especially when you understand that my father was the primary bread winner who worked outside the home and my mother worked to run the home and care to us children. We attended SDA elementary school grades 0ne through eight, we all matriculated to Lynwood SDA High School or Academy for grades 9-12. Having all of us children in Christian school was very expensive and I realized it especially as I followed suit, by having five children of my own, while trying to educate them in private school. After I finished college, I soon married, started a family, and recognized that I needed more income to live the kind of lifestyle I desired for my family. I moved from job position to job opportunity seeking more earning power. I soon started a home-based business where we were learning skills that would enable us to command more income. We were learning to read positive affirmation books, and other materials that would expand our thinking and practices. Successful people breed success, and they believe in themselves and their capabilities to do greater things as well as earn more money. We were being taught how to live a more fruitful fulfilled life, while being a blessing to others and achieving the goals we desired ourselves. After beginning to vote, I voted with the party line. I recall viewing stories on the news when in my teens where certain congressional representatives were featured such as Maxine Waters from Southern California. I can’t speak of one thing this person worked on that benefited the people in her congressional district. That area has always been a mess, and I don’t believe she lives anywhere near that area. Many Democrat leaders have the same personalities and histories in my estimation as Mrs. Waters. Past Presidents such as Jimmy Carter, William Jefferson Clinton, Barack H. Obama, did nothing of significance to benefit the Black communities as democrat leaders. While trying to build the business from home, the successful business partners were sharing with us that the political parties were influencing society in ways that we really didn’t understand. They shared that the democrat party was the party that influenced people to put out their hand and ask while expecting support wanting things to be done for you, instead of making things happen and doing things for yourself. They also told us that the republican party taught people how to get out of their comfort zone and do for themselves while making it happen for yourself. They told us it was going to take hard work on our part, and that is the reason for changing the personal belief system and reading all the positive mental attitude materials. We switched political parties and began understanding what DIY was all about. Do it yourself takes work and effort, while believing that you can do whatever you put your mind and effort into. On the other hand, I watched many times, live video from the White House as President Donald J. Trump hosted successful Black youths from schools across the nation who are excelling in school and careers seeking to benefit society and their families, while getting things done and making a difference in their lives and the lives of their families. President Trump also hosted the HBCU leadership multiple times and questioned the organization as to the reasons for their subsequent visit. They informed him that they needed more financial assistance, and the President in amazement responded and gave them enough assistance that they would not have to return for ten years. The previous Presidents were only giving year by year assistance. The 45th President has done much to help the Black community, and we are realizing that more and more now, just look at our economy and personal finances. I sincerely hope that we appreciate this truth as the next presidential election approaches.
